राजकुमार थोरात : शुक्रवार, 25 मे 2018 Women From Walchandnagar Felicitated MP Supriya Suleवालचंदनगर - इंदापूर तालुक्यातील महिलांनी केलेल्या सत्कारामुळे खासदार सुप्रिया सुळे भारावून गेल्या. सुळे यांनी तालुक्यामध्ये अकरा तासामध्ये १६ गावातील महिलांच्या भेटीगाठी घेवून नागरिकांच्या अडीअडचणी जाणून घेतल्या.इंदापूर तालुक्यातील जिल्हा परिषदेच्या पळसदेव-बिजवडी गटातील १६ गावामध्ये खासदार सुप्रिया सुळे यांच्या गावभेटी दौऱ्याचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. सुळे यांचा दौरा सकाळी दहा वाजण्याच्या सुमारास सुरु झाला. व रात्री ९ वाजता संपला. अकरा तासामध्‍ये १६ गावांतील नागरिकांशी संवाद साधून त्यांच्या अडीअडचणी जाणून घेतल्या. सुळे यांनी विशेष:ता महिलांशी संपर्क साधला. वयश्री योजनेची माहिती मिळाली होती का? अपंगाच्या मेळाव्याची माहिती देण्यात आली होती का? गावामध्ये पाणी येते का? रस्त्यांची कामे पूर्ण झाली आहेत का? याची माहिती घेतली.एरवी राजकीय कार्य्रकमाला महिलांची हजेरीचे प्रमाण कमी असते. मात्र सुळेच्या दौऱ्यामध्ये महिलांचा सहभाग जास्त होता.या वेळी सुळे यांनी सांगितले की, माजी केंद्रीय कृषीमंत्री शरद पवार यांच्या प्रयत्नामुळे स्थानिक स्वराज संस्थेमध्ये मध्ये महिलांचा टक्का वाढला आहे. आज अनेक गावामध्ये महिला कारभारी (सरपंच) असून गावचा कारभार सक्षमपणे सांभाळत असल्याबद्दल त्यांचे कौतुक केले. तसेच अनेक गावामध्ये सुळे यांचा महिलांनी सत्कार केल्यामुळे सुळे भारावून गेल्या. पुणे जिल्हातील अंगणवाडी सेविका,मदतनीस व आशा वर्कर यांच्या आरोग्याची काळजी घेण्यासाठी हेल्थ कार्ड तयार करणार असल्याची माहिती खासदार सुप्रिया सुळे यांनी देवून महिलांना कामानिमित्त फिरण्यासाठी विशेष सायकलची निर्मिती ही करणार असून इंदापूर तालुक्यातील मुलींसाठी ३५०० सायकली वाटप करणार असल्याचे सांगितले.आमदार भरणे, सभापती जगदाळे व माने यांचे कौतुक...इंदापूर तालुक्यातील गावभेटी दरम्यान खासदार सुळे यांनी आमदार दत्तात्रेय भरणे, कृषी उत्पन्न बाजार समितीचे सभापती आप्पासाहेब जगदाळे व जिल्हा परिषदेचे बांधकाम व आरोग्य समितीचे सभापती प्रवीण माने यांच्या कामाचे कौतुक करुन तालुक्याचा विकास होत आहे. नागरिकांना अडचणी असल्यास त्यांनी थेट आमदार भरणे, सभापती जगदाळे, माने व  माझ्याशी संपर्क साधण्याचे आवाहन केले.http://www.esakal.com/pune/women-walchandnagar-felicitated-mp-supriya-sule-119315

She was referring to the failure of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) during the voting in recent bypolls. She also reacted to BJP leader Vinod Tawde’s statement that she and NCP supremo Sharad Pawar had lied about the government’s decision to close zilla parishad schools. She said she had data to back her comments and alleged that the government was at fault for their policy that led to this decision of closing schools as many children would lose out on a chance at education. Almost 25 per cent EVMs, used in the Bhandara-Gondiya Lok Sabha bypolls on Monday, had malfunctioned. A lot of confusion followed with announcements of polling getting cancelled at the booths with faulty machines doing the rounds. Later, however, election commission officials stated that polling will continue as the malfunctioning EVMs had been replaced. A controversy had erupted and politicians had questioned the credibility of the polls considering faults in so many EVMs. Referring to the string of incidents, Sule demanded that the election commission should go back to ballot paper to bring credibility to elections. She said, “There have been repeated complaints of problems in EVMs. If this keeps happening during major elections in the country, how can we expect people to get justice? The leaders in this government always speak of transparency. Is this what they mean by being transparent? Ballot papers have been used by many countries and they used to be the norm even in our country before EVMs. If there are so many complaints about EVMs, and the present government really wants elections to be held properly, they should switch to ballot paper. All parties have been demanding this for a long time.” On schools being closedFollowing allegations made by state education minister Vinod Tawde blaming NCP chief Sharad Pawar and his daughter MP Supriya Sule of making false claims regarding the status of school education in the state, the latter on Monday slammed Tawde for his comments. Sule had earlier refuted Tawde’s claims that there had been an improvement in school education in the state and blamed him for the decision of shutting down 1,300 schools in the interiors of the state citing poor attendance. Sule said, “While the state education department is claiming that they have merged 568 schools in the state, the actual number is only 430. In the process of shutting and merging the schools, which are not within 1 km from the village, many students are suffering. The Right to Education Act states that students should be given admission in schools that are not more than 1km from their homes. But government is only flouting the norms through their actions.” She also asked Tawde if the government is going to provide any transport facilities to students who are being driven away from education through the process of merging schools and claimed that there are many students who are facing the problem due to schools getting beyond their reach. She also alleged that there were many schools in the district where locals had opposed the merger. The NCP leader added, “Tawde claimed that he had personally spoken to students before taking the decision of shutting down schools. But in Pune district alone there are around 57 schools where the villages had opposed the decision of shutting down. This number might go up if we consider the whole state. The decision is also at odds with the provisions of the Right to Education Act, she said.Ms Sule pointed out that the state had also not provided transportation to students whose original schools that were nearby had now been merged with schools farther away. About the state having closed down over 568 schools with less than 10 students and merged them “other” schools, Ms Sule told the media in Pune, “Now those ‘other’ schools where the kids from the closed schools will have to go are more than two to three km away. Kids will have to walk four to six kilometre and more to their school and back. In my Baramati constituency, in bhill vasti, in Shindoldi in Shirur taluka in Pune, kids have to walk three km to go to school and again three km to return.”“But the education minister is using smart words, saying that schools are less than 1.5km from the closed schools. The RTE provision says that schools should be within 1.5 km from kids’ homes,” Ms Sule alleged.According to the state, a survey has been carried out and the opinion of teachers and students has been sought before merging the schools. “Where is that survey? Why does the state not disclose it in public. If villagers oppose the closing down of schools, the state cannot shut them down as per RTE. I know many villages where the villagers have opposed the decision. For example, Garmala villagers have opposed the decision but still, the school in their village has been closed down,” Ms Sule said.

ST Correspondent : NCP MP from Baramati continues opposition, points out how move flouts several RTE guidelinesPune: “Sharad Pawar and Supriya Sule have never lied in their social and political journey so far, and more so, we have never brought politics into education,” said MP Supriya Sule while interacting with the media here on Monday.She was responding to an accusation by State Education Minister Vinod Tawde that people opposing the shutting down of 1,300 Zilla Parishad schools in the State are liars. Tawde was keen on the use of the word merger, and insisted that just the school buildings are being shut and schools will merge.Speaking about the issue, Sule said, “I am not against improving the quality of education in the State, which the government keeps saying is the reason behind the said ‘merger’ of schools. However, lack of proper study and planning will just end up deteriorating the system as there might be high number of dropouts.”She said the move breaks many provisions of the Right to Education (RTE) Act and added, “We are procuring data from various districts and data obtained by me about schools in Pune district and my constituency isn’t showing a good picture. According to the RTE Act, the distance from a child’s home to a school shouldn’t be more than 6 km. However, we have so many examples where the distance from the old school to the new one itself is more than 3 kms. We also have to consider cases of remote tribal villages.”She noted that the RTE Act states that a school cannot be shut down if the villagers there are against the closure. However, there are many examples where villages where schools are marked to be shut down are protesting against it.“In Pune district, 76 schools were marked to be shut down. Out of these 19 have been shut, or merged into other schools that are within a 1 km distance. However, 57 others haven’t yet been shut as students and villagers there want the schools to run. Thus, Pune Zila Parishad has decided to run these schools on their own, despite the State government’s orders to shut them,” said Vivek Valse Patil, Vice-President, Pune ZP. Sule said Pune is the only ZP till now that has made such a decision.Over the government’s claims that the schools that are being merged have less than 10 students as people are admitting their children to nearby private schools, Vasant Kalpande, former chairperson of Maharashtra State Board, said, “In many of these villages, the population itself is scarce. Also, people are migrating constantly, due to which, the number of students is very low some years.”Sule asked the government the basis and the parameters according to which the schools to be ‘merged’ are shortlisted. She also pointed out that while Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis keeps stating that Maharashtra has jumped in ranking from number 16 to number three as far as quality of education is concerned, he fails to answer which study/report has given the said rankings.“The reports by ASER and Pratham, that are considered to be the most credible and are quoted by everyone in the Assembly, have stopped giving rankings for the past few years. I agree that there is no deterioration in the quality of education in the past four years, but who is saying that our State has made such a drastic improvement?,” Sule further asked.Tawde reactsAfter Supriya Sule’s presser, Vinod Tawde issued a statement saying, “In the tuition of Baramati, ‘dada’ and ‘tai’ teach how to draw water through corruption in the dam construction. I do not need Pawar school. For me, SSC board is enough.  प्रभात वृत्तसेवा  - May 29, 2018 | 2:40 pm शाळा बंद निर्णयाचा समाचारसुप्रिया सुळे : शाळा बंदचा निर्णयाचा घेतला समाचारपुणे – शाळा बंद धोरणाबाबत शरद पवार व सुप्रिया सुळे हे धादांत खोटे बोलत आहे, या विनोद तावडे यांनी केलेल्या आरोपाला प्रत्युत्तर देत मी कधी व कुठे खोटे बोलले हे त्यांनी दाखवून द्यावे असे म्हणत सुप्रिया सुळे यांनी तावडेंच्या शाळा बंद धोरणाचा समाचार घेतला. राज्यात कशा चुकीच्या पध्दतीने शाळा बंद करण्यात आल्या याची आकडेवारीही त्यांनी सादर केली.सुप्रिया सुळे यांनी सोमवारी पत्रकार परिषद घेऊन याबाबची माहिती दिली. यावेळी शिक्षणतज्ज्ञ व शिक्षण विभागातील माजी संचालक वसंत काळपांडे व जिल्हा परिषदेचे उपाध्यक्ष विवेक वळसे पाटील आदी उपस्थित होते.सुळे म्हणाल्या, राज्यात तेराशे शाळा समायोजित करण्याचा निर्णय शिक्षण विभागाने घेतला. सर्व स्तरातून ओरड झाल्यानंतर त्यातून काही शाळा वगळण्यात आल्या. मात्र माझ्याकडे आजही अशा शाळांची आकडेवारी आहे, कि जी शिक्षण हक्‍क कायद्याचा भंग करते आहे. शिक्षण हक्‍क कायदा सांगतो की विद्यार्थ्यांच्या घरापासून त्याच्या शाळेचे अंतर हे तीन किलोमीटरपर्यंत असावे. मात्र यांनी भलताच नियम लावून एक शाळा ते दुसरी शाळा असे अंतर मोजले आहे. शिरुर येथील भीलवस्तीतील शिंदोणी येथे एका शाळेची पटसंख्या 13 आहे. ती शाळा बंद करून दुसऱ्या शाळेत समायोजन झाले ते अंतर शाळेपासून 2.9 किमी आहे. अशा प्रकारची अनेक उदाहरणे माझ्याकडे आहेत असेही त्या म्हणाल्या. शिक्षणाचा कायदा कुठे पाळला जातो आहे असा असा प्रतिप्रश्‍नही त्यांनी उपस्थित केला.काळपांडे म्हणाले, शिक्षण विभागाने जे निर्णय घेतले ते जनतेला विश्‍वासात घेऊन त्यांचे पूर्ण स्पष्टीकरण देऊन घेणे गरजेचे होते. शाळा बंदबाबत आधी 1300 नंतर 567 असा आकडा सांगण्यात आला. मात्र, याचा खरा आकडा अद्याप समोर आलेला नाही. तसेच शिक्षणाची प्रगती 16 वरून 3 वर आली हे सांगतानाही अहवाल सादर करायला हवा होता. मात्र तसे काहीच झालेले दिसत नाही.आजवरच्या राजकारणात कधीच खोटे बोलले नाहीआजवर राजकारणात आल्यापासून मी किंवा पवार साहेब कधीही खोटे बोललो नाहीत. मात्र, तावडे यांना असे वाटत असेल तर त्यांनी ते सिध्द करावे. शिक्षणमंत्री हे शाळा बंद धोरणाची पाठराखण करून बहुजन समाजाचे शिक्षण हिरावून घेत आहेत, असाही आरोप सुळे यांनी केला.शिक्षणाबाबत उपस्थित केले प्रश्‍न– शाळा बंद करण्याचा निर्णय हा कोणते निकष लावून घेण्यात आला व त्याबाबत कोणताच अहवाल अद्यापपर्यंत का प्रसिध्द केला नाही?– शिक्षणात महाराष्ट्र 16 व्या स्थानावरून तिसऱ्या स्थानावर आला आहे, असे विधान मुख्यमंत्र्यांनी केले होते. ते कोणत्या सर्वेक्षणाच्या व कोणत्या अहवालाच्या आधारे केले?– शरद पवार आणि सुप्रिया सुळे कोणत्या मुद्यांवर खोटे बोलतात तेही त्यांनी सविस्तर माध्यमांसमोर येऊन स्पष्ट का नाही केले?तावडेंच्या बॉसला ट्युशनची गरजशिक्षणमंत्री काही अभ्यास न करता शाळा बंद करत असतील तर त्यांना ट्युशनची गरज आहे. असा प्रश्‍न विचारल्यानंतर सुळे म्हणाल्या, शिक्षणमंत्र्यांनाही व त्यांच्या बॉसला (मुख्यमंत्री) या दोघांना ट्युशनची गरज आहे. त्यांनी वसंत काळपांडे सरांकडे ट्युशन लावावी.http://www.dainikprabhat.com/%E0%A4%B6%E0%A4%B0%E0%A4%A6-%E0%A4%AA%E0%A4%B5%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%B0-%E0%A4%B5-%E0%A4%B8%E0%A5%81%E0%A4%AA%E0%A5%8D%E0%A4%B0%E0%A4%BF%E0%A4%AF%E0%A4%BE-%E0%A4%B8%E0%A5%81%E0%A4%B3%E0%A5%87-%E0%A4%95/

Maharashtra Times | Updated: May 29, 2018, 03:26AM ISTम. टा. प्रतिनिधी, पुणे विद्यार्थ्यांना 'चाचा चौधरी आणि मोदी'चे धडे बालभारतीच्या पाठ्यपुस्तकातून भारतीय जनता पक्षाचा राजकीय संदेश दिल्यानंतर आता सर्व शिक्षा अभियानातून जिल्हा परिषदेच्या प्राथामिक विभागाच्या विद्यार्थ्यांना अवांतर वाचनासाठी चक्क 'चाचा चौधरी आणि मोदी' असे पुस्तक देण्यात आले आहेत. या पुस्तकातून केंद्र सरकारच्या महत्त्वाकांक्षी योजना आणि पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदींची प्रतिमा विद्यार्थ्यांना सांगण्याचा प्रयत्न करण्यात आला आहे. या पुस्तकात मोदींचे गुणगान करण्यात आले आहे. दरम्यान, मोदींऐवजी संत गाडगे बाबा यांच्यासारख्या थोरपुरुषांचे महत्त्व सांगितले असते, तर बरे झाले असते, असा टोला खासदार सुप्रिया सुळे यांनी लगाविला. सुळे यांनी सोमवारी पत्रकार परिषदेत हे पुस्तक दाखविले. शाळांमध्ये विद्यार्थ्यांना अवांतर वाचनासाठी जिल्हा परिषदेच्या पुस्तकांचा सेट नुकताच मिळाला असून ती पुस्तके येत्या काळात विद्यार्थ्यांना देण्यात येणार आहे. सर्व शिक्षा अभियानातून विद्यार्थ्यांना अवांतर वाचनासाठी ६९ विषयांवर पुस्तके शाळांना पाठविण्यात आली आहेत. त्यापैकी 'चाचा चौधरी आणि मोदी' हे एक पुस्तक आहे. या पुस्तकाच्या मुखपृष्ठावर आणि मलपृष्ठावर मोदींचे मोठे छायाचित्र असून पुस्तकांमध्ये मोदी सरकारच्या महत्त्वाकांक्षी योजनांची माहिती एकप्रकारे जाहिरातींद्वारे सांगण्यात आली आहे. तसेच, या योजना रंजक पद्धतीने विद्यार्थ्यांच्या मनावर बिंबविण्याचा प्रयत्न करण्यात आला आहे. यामध्ये उघड्यावर शौच करू नये, परिसर स्वच्छ ठेवा, घरात शौचालये बनवा, स्वच्छता अभियान अशांची माहिती सांगितली आहे. या पुस्तकामध्ये चाचा चौधरींचे छायाचित्र लहान, तर मोदींचे छायाचित्र मोठे छापले असून विद्यार्थ्यांचे लक्ष छापील मजकूरांपेक्षा मोदींवर कसे जाईल, याची पुरेपुर काळजी घेतल्याचे ठळकपणे दिसून येते. या पुस्तकात प्रत्येकाच्या घरात गॅस सिलिंडर पोहोचविण्याची उज्ज्वला योजना, मुलींच्या शिक्षणासाठी मुली वाचवा, मुली शिकवा, नोटबंदीद्वारे काळा पैसा आणि गुन्हेगारी घडामोडींवर प्रतिबंध, डिजिटल इंडिया, वस्तू व सेवा कर (जीएसटी) अशा योजनांची माहिती दिली आहे. दरम्यान, या पुस्तकांद्वारे केंद्र सरकार आपल्या योजनांचे मार्केटिंग करीत असल्याचे जिल्हा परिषदेचे उपाध्यक्ष विवेक वळसे पाटील यांनी सांगितले. https://maharashtratimes.indiatimes.com/maharashtra/pune-news/chacha-chaudhary-books-for-student/articleshow/64359561.cms

May 29, 2018 सामना प्रतिनिधी । पुणे शिक्षण खात्यात विनोदी कारभार राज्यात तेराशे शाळा बंद करण्याच्या निर्णयावर ज्येष्ठ नेते शरद पवार आणि खासदार सुप्रिया सुळे चुकीचे राजकीय वक्तव्य करीत असून, त्यांच्या अपप्रचारामुळे बहुजन समाजातील मुले शिक्षणापासून वंचित राहत असल्याच्या शिक्षणमंत्री विनोद तावडे यांच्या आरोपाला खासदार सुळे यांनी बंद पडलेल्या शाळांची यादी दाखवून प्रत्युत्तर दिले. तावडेंचा आरोप म्हणजे स्वत:चे अपयश लपविण्यासाठी केलेली केवलवाणी धडपड आहे. गेली तीन-चार वर्षे शिक्षण खात्यात ‘विनोदी’ कारभार सुरू असून, त्याला आवर घालण्याची गरज असल्याचा टोला त्यांनी लगावला. शिक्षणमंत्री तावडे यांनी ‘शाळा बंद’ निर्णयाच्या संदर्भात पवार यांनी केलेल्या टीकेला उत्तर देताना कोल्हापुरात पवार आणि सुळे यांच्यावर आरोप केले होते. त्याला सुळे यांनी आज पत्रकार परिषदेत उत्तर दिले. पुणे जिल्ह्यातील तीन कि. मी. अंतराच्या आतील बारामतीमधील गारमाळ ही दीड कि. मी. आणि शिरूरमधील २.९ कि. मी. अंतर असणारी भिलवस्ती या शाळा बंद केल्या. जिल्ह्यात १९ शाळा बंद झाल्या. असे असताना आम्ही खोटं बोलतो, असा आरोप तावडे करतात कसा? असा सवाल सुळे यांनी केला. यावेळी माजी शिक्षण संचालक वसंत काळपांडे, जि. प. उपाध्यक्ष विवेक वळसे-पाटील, वैशाली नागवडे हे उपस्थित होते. बंद शाळेतील मुलांची कोणतीही व्यवस्था सरकारने केली नाही. असे असताना आमच्यावर खोटे आरोप शिक्षणमंत्र्यांनी करावेत, हे दुर्दैव आहे. सर्वेक्षण बंद, मग ३ रा क्रमांक कसा?राज्याचा शिक्षणाचा दर्जा १६व्या स्थानावरून तिसऱ्या क्रमांकावर आल्याचा दावा मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी केला आहे. तो कोणत्या निकषाच्या आधारे केला? असा सवाल खासदार सुळे यांनी केला. ‘प्रथम’ने रँकिंग बंद केले आहे. ‘असर’चा अहवालही पाच वर्षांत आला नाही, मग मुख्यमंत्री कशाच्या आधारे दर्जा आणि क्रमांक ठरवत आहेत, ते जाहीर करावे. मला बारामतीची ट्युशन नको – तावडेशिक्षणमंत्री विनोद तावडे यांच्या बॉसला ट्युशनची गरज आहे. शाळा बंद धोरणावर त्यांनी माजी शिक्षणसंचालक वसंत काळपांडे यांच्याकडे ट्युशन लावावी, अशी खोचक टिप्पणी सुप्रिया सुळे यांनी केली. त्यावर प्रतिक्रिया देताना तावडे म्हणाले, बारामतीच्या ट्युशनमध्ये धरणातल्या भ्रष्टाचाराने पाणी कसे आणायचे ते दादा आणि ताई शिकवतात. मला पवार स्कूल नको. एसएससी बोर्ड चांगले आहे. त्यामध्ये प्रामाणिकपणा शिकवितात, असे सांगितले. http://www.saamana.com/supriya-sules-remarks-on-vinod-tawde-and-education-department/

TIMES NEWS NETWORK TIMES NEWS NETWORKPune:Baramati MP Supriya Sule on Monday said the NCP would intensify its protest against the state government’s “arbitrary decision” of closing down Zilla Parishad schools, which have fewer students, in remote areas. “The government has arrived at a figure that in the first phase, 1,300 schools must be closed. We have been asking how has it arrived at the figure? Whose report was it and who were the people involved? Instead of replying to relevant questions, education minister Vinod Tawde is calling us names. We have facts and figures which prove that some schools were closed despite there being no another school within a distance of 1km,” said Sule while addressing a news conference here. In the Budget session of the legislature, Tawde had said 5,600 schools have less than 10 students. In 1,312 cases, there are other schools within a distance of 1km . Out of this, 568 schools have been merged, transport facility has been provided for students in 541 schools. In 383 schools, the headmaster and extension officer haven’t raised any issues regarding closure. Sule also mentioned about the ‘Long Road to Education’ series in TOIwhich highlighted the problems the students would face if the schools are closed. Sule also gave examples of schools under Pune district that were closed despite the nearest school being more than 2km away. “Schools in Pawarvasti (Indapur), Bagalphata, Velhavale(Khed), Shastabad (Shirur) and Bhillavasti were closed down or merged but the nearest schools in these villages are 2km, 2.5km, 2.8km, 1.7km and 1.9 km, respectively, away. Does the government expect students to walk for almost 6km to school?” Sule asked. Reacting to Sule’s comments, Tawde, via social media, said, “In Baramati’s tuitions, ‘dada’ and ‘tai’ teach how to get water from illegal dams. I don’t want Pawar school, our SSC board is good. We teach being true and genuine.”

Waving a book titled ‘Chacha Chaudhary and Narendra Modi’ at a press conference, Sule said, “I am happy that through these books (Chacha Chowdhary and Modi) the message of cleanliness is given to the students, however, what was the need to use PM Modi’s large pictures on these books?” Sule said photos of Sant Gadgebaba–a 19th century mendicant-saint and social reformer from Maharashtra–or Mahatma Gandhi who spread the message about cleanliness, should have been used on these books instead of those of Modi. The Maharashtra government had reportedly taken a decision to buy books worth Rs 59.42 lakh under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) as a supplementary reading material for students which include the books on Chacha Choudhary and Modi series that can be read by the students in leisure time. “It is unfortunate that the government is trying to promote itself using education as a mean. Education should not be used for political gains but the government is doing it by bringing marketing into the education,” she said. Sule, daughter of NCP chief Sharad Pawar, said no political party had tried to promote its ideology through education in the past, “but this government is doing this which is unfortunate”. To use it as a tool for marketing is shameful,” said Sule, who was addressing a press conference here. Thousands of copies of the books on PM Modi have been bought by the state government and distributed to schools. “The book has a message of cleanliness, which is great. But if they wanted to use icons for the message of cleanliness, then why not use Sant Gadge Maharaj? Does the present government feel that Mr Modi is the only person fit to speak about it? Unfortunately, the present government is using education, which is an extremely important and sensitive subject, for political advertising. In so many years, we have never done that as we feel at least education should not be touched,” said Sule.
