Bhor tehsil in Baramati Lok Sabha Constituency has abundance of mountains, rivers, streams and natural beauty. The biggest highlight is that Raireshwar temple where Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj took the oath of Swarajya is situated in this tehsil. Bhor tehsil has a past historical glory of Bandal-Deshmukh who fought along with Shivaji Maharaj. The tehsil is blessed with abundant of water due to the high mountain ranges and rivers flowing through them. Considering the availability of water, British built Bhatghar Dam near Bhor city. This dam is regarded as a marvellous masterpiece in terms of its engineering. Built in 1927, this dam has a total of 81 gates out of which 45 are automatic. These doors of almost 95 years old dam are still in good condition and work well. Apart from the dam, there are many beautiful monuments such as Bhor Rajwada, suspension bridge etc. The crescent moon-like appearance of the Nira river seen from the Nagmodi side as we enter the Bhor tehsil from the Satara road, is a yet another stunning view to capture. The abundance of water, enables Bhor tehsil to easily grow cash crops such as paddy, ragi, fresh vegetables etc.
Rajgad, the first capital of the Swarajya established by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the first fort taken by Maharaj after fighting the first battle, the Torna Fort both of these significant monuments are situated in Velhe tehsil. Described by historians as an extraordinary fort, Rajgad was the capital of Swarajya for almost 25 years. Most of the important events in Shivaji Maharaj's life took place at this very fort, from the establishment of Swarajya to its later developments. Both these forts rest in the Sahyadri mountain ranges that originate from Lingana fort and move towards the east while Velhe tehsil is situated at the foot of these ranges. MP Supriya Sule has been demanding that the name 'Rajgad' should be given to this teshil because of the glorious history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and its natural beauty. As the terrain is mostly hilly with slopes and valleys, paddy cultivation is conducive here and therefore rice is the main crop in Velhe.
Mulshi tehsil has abundance of rain, high mountains, valleys, rivers, streams, springs, water falls and lush green forests. This makes Mulshi, a wonderful place for monsoon trips. The lane which was used since ages to descend to Konkan is now treated as the main highway. Apart from a few small towns and villages like Mulshi, Paud, Pirangut, Bhukum, Bhugaon, Chale, Male along this main road, there is a train of small villages and mansions situated in the hills and valleys. Mula river is the main river of this tehsil and a dam has been constructed on it. The Mula River has a major dam at its source- Mulshi Dam which is privately owned by the Tata Power, and the electricity generated is used for Mumbai city. Senapati Bapat's fight for the rights of displaced farmers during the construction of Mulshi dam is a prominent historial event, also known to be the the world's first anti-dam movement.
